Faye\, a fearless and talented 8 year old\, w as diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a year ago. Despite the challenges\, she has faced every poke\, prod\, and hurdle with a smile and determination\, never letting T1D slow her down.\n\nWhen asked how she wanted to mark thi s one year milestone\, Faye’s wish was simple: a huge gymnastics party w here kids can bring toys for children newly diagnosed with diabetes in the hospital. So let’s make her dream a reality!\n\nCome flip\, jump\, and play as we honor Faye’s incredible journey and show that T1D has no boun ds over being a kid. Bring a toy to donate and help us spread joy to other s facing the same journey.\n\nNaydenov Gymnastics has graciously donated t heir space for our event\, and we are so thankful! However\, we ask that y ou RSVP as there are a limited number of spots for children (ages 12 years and under) to participate in the open gym.\n\nLet’s celebrate Faye and all the kids who show us what true strength looks like!\n\n \;\nFAQs\n 1. What is a diaversary?\nA diaversary is the anniversary of the day someo ne was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). It’s a time to reflect on t he challenges overcome\, celebrate resilience\, and recognize the strength it takes to manage T1D every day.\n2. Do I need to bring a gift?\nInstead of gifts\, we encourage you to bring a new\, unused and unwrapped toy to donate to OHSU for children newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and other medical needs. View their Wish List for toy ideas. Please note that OHSU does not accept used toys or toys not in their original packaging.\n\nYou can also make a donation to Type 1 Unbound. Type 1 Unbound is a Portland M etro-based organization supporting youth with Type 1 Diabetes. By building community and connection\, it helps kids and their families overcome isol ation and thrive—unbound from their diagnosis.\n3. Do I need to RSVP?\nY es. Naydenov Gymnastics has graciously donated their space to let us use d uring the event\, however\, there are only 100 spaces for children ages 1 2 years and under to participate in the open gym. And while we think that should be plenty\, we just want to make sure we don't have to turn anyone away the day of the event.\n4. Do parents need to sign a waiver for their kids to participate?\nYes\, a signed waiver is required for all children p articipating in the open gym. The forms can be found here.\n5. Are parents required to stay?\nYes\, a parent or guardian must stay with their child at Naydenov Gymnastics for the duration of the event.\n6. Who can particip ate in the open gym?\nChildren ages 12 years and under are welcome to part icipate in the open gym activities.\n7. Do adults need to RSVP?\nNo\, only children ages 12 years and under participating in the open gym need to be included in the RSVP.\n8. Who is Faye?\nFaye is a spunky 8-year-old who w as diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a year ago. She has faced every challeng e with courage and determination\, excelling in gymnastics and inspiring t hose around her. Instead of a traditional party\, she wanted to give back by collecting toys for kids newly diagnosed with T1D.\n9.
